Stowe September 2026 Update: Grocery insights, credit card value breakdowns, and better bank connections

This month, we’ve brought your grocery insights onto the dashboard, broken down the math for the credit cards you already have, and improved how Stowe understands your transactions. RBC now connects to Stowe, and the Advisor chat gives you more accurate answers based on your spending habits.

Together, these updates help answer some everyday money questions: where should you stock up on your usual groceries, is your credit card worth its annual fee, and what’s behind a change in your spending?

Here’s what’s new 💫

🛒 Your groceries have a home on the dashboard

Last month, we added receipts and grocery price tracking to Stowe. As you add grocery receipts, you build a history of what you’ve paid for individual products and how those prices compare across the stores you shop at.

The new Groceries card on your dashboard brings those insights together.

You can see which store departments account for the biggest share of your grocery spending, whether that’s produce, snacks, or dairy. No judgment on our end! Breaking things down by department helps you understand what’s inside your grocery total and where you might want to take a closer look.

You can also see the products you buy most often, where you’ve paid the most for them, and which stores have given you the best deal.

Say you buy the same coffee every week. A small price difference can add up when you keep buying it. Your grocery history lets you check which store has sold it for less before you stock up, without having to remember what you paid on each trip.

These comparisons come from your own grocery receipts. The more you add, the more history you’ll have to help you plan your next shop.

💳 See the math behind your credit card’s value

Stowe already shows you how we calculate the value of the credit cards we recommend. Now you can see that same breakdown for the cards you already have.

Tap a credit card on your Household screen to see the details behind its value. You can review how Stowe calculates it and better understand what the card is earning you.

If you’ve been wondering whether to keep a card when its annual fee comes around, this gives you more information to help you decide.

🔎 Faster, more accurate transaction details

Recognizing a purchase is much easier when the merchant name makes sense, and the transaction is in the right category.

We’ve made a big improvement to our transaction enrichment service, which identifies merchants and adds details to your transactions. It’s now faster and more accurate, so Stowe is more likely to show the correct merchant, assign the right category, and recognize recurring payments.

That includes understanding how often a payment repeats, helping Stowe identify ongoing bills and subscriptions.

🏦 RBC now connects to Stowe

If you’ve been waiting to connect your RBC accounts, you can now connect them in Stowe!

RBC works a little differently from connections that refresh in the background. You’ll need to log in again each time you want to refresh your transactions. RBC transactions won’t update automatically overnight.

We’ve added notifications on the main dashboard to let you know when you need to refresh your RBC connection. If you’re waiting for recent transactions to appear, you’ll have a place to check whether it’s time to log in again.

Our RBC connection guide explains more about how the connection works.

💬 A smarter Stowe Advisor

We’ve improved the Stowe Advisor chat to give you more accurate answers that are easier to understand and better informed by your spending habits.

You might notice that you’ve spent more than usual and want help understanding why. Or you might be looking for places to save but don't know where to start. The Advisor helps you explore those questions using your spending as context.

Try asking about something you’ve noticed in your own finances. We’re interested in whether the answer helps you decide what to do next, and where you’d like a clearer explanation or more detail.

📱 iOS 27 support and improvements across the app

Stowe now supports iOS 27. We’ve also fixed bugs and improved performance across the app to keep things running smoothly.

👀 A look ahead at October

We’re working on proactive daily updates to help you keep up with your money.

That means bringing things to your attention when they’re useful to know, including:

  • A bill that’s coming due
  • Interest you’ve received
  • Bank fees you could avoid
  • A subscription that’s coming up for renewal that you may want to cancel
  • A bank account that might not have enough money to cover an upcoming payment

It’s easy to miss these things when you’re busy. We want Stowe to help you catch them while you can still do something useful.

There’s plenty more in the works, and we’ll share details as these features roll out!

Tell us what you think

Try the Groceries card, review your credit card’s value breakdown, or ask the Advisor about something you’ve noticed in your spending. If you’ve been waiting for RBC support, we’d love to hear how the connection works for you.

Tell us what’s useful, what’s confusing, and what you’d like us to build next on r/JoinStowe or through the app. We read everything and use your feedback to decide what to work on next. 🙏
